Join the FRDC’s Human Dimensions Research (HDR) Subprogram for a free, appetite whetting ‘tasting session’ of economic concepts and tools, an understanding of which could give you and your business or organization a competitive edge.
Through a series of short presentations, case studies and exercises, we will demystify many of the core concepts of economic thinking (such as opportunity cost, economic profit and time preference); demonstrate several tools (including discounting and elasticity); and unpack selected fisheries and aquaculture sector issues through the lenses of price discrimination, principle-agent analysis and the Prisoner’s dilemma.
This session will also be an opportunity to hear about the RD&E activities and priorities of the HDR Subprogram and learn why the HDR Subprogram is ‘giving away’ valuable content that it usually charges for by offering the session at no cost to participants.
